Class Info

Adults classes (16+)

Every Sunday 10am - 11.45am. We are open 52 weeks a year with some exceptions - please check our Facebook page for live updates on any dojo closures. 

 

Class outline: Each class includes Taijutsu (unarmed), Tachidori & Jodori (weapons training).

Price: Classes are £10 per lesson, pay as you play. Or you can pay £50 for 6 lessons. You will need to purchase insurance from the club after attending your first couple of lessons. 

​

Beginners, please wear loose shorts or trousers, and a loose t-shirt. You will be expected to wear a gi and buy your own weapons if you wish to continue to train in the dojo. Training is done in bare feet - strictly no shoes or socks on the dojo mats for hygiene and safety reasons (apart from those with medical exceptions). Please pay attention to dojo etiquette.

Chief Instructor - Albi Solicari Sensei (4th Dan Aikikai)

Chief instructor Albi Solicari Sensei (4th Dan Aikikai) has practiced multiple martial arts in a career spanning 5 decades, including Judo, Karate, Shurinji Kempo, Japanese Swordsmanship and Aikido. After achieving a black belt in Karate, he made the transition into Aikido in the late 80s. He founded Agatsu Aikido Club in 2009 and was awarded his 4th Dan by Ulf Evenas Shinan (7th Dan Aikikai). He is a qualified Joint Aikikai Council (JAC) instructor and approved JAC Senior Coach / Coach Tutor (CL3). 

Syllabus

As a recognised Aikikai Foundation club, we follow the Hombu Dojo grading system and all grades are approved and issued by the Aikikai Foundation.
